How to do I disable hotspots from my PASSPORT screen?

Solution

Hotspots are designated text strings that appear in the host screen that perform specified functions when they are clicked with the mouse. Hotspot functions can be used to send host function, text string to the host, run a macro script, etc.  When hotspots are configured to be visible, they appear like Windows dialog box buttons. Although hotspots are enabled by default in PASSPORT, some users may wish to disable them.

 

To disable hotspots in PASSPORT, follow the steps below:

 

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Start a PASSPORT session.
  2. Select Hotspots from the Options menu.
  3. Un-check the option Enable Hotspots.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:
 

From the Client:
 

Instructions are the same as those for PASSPORT PC to Host.

 

From the Administrator:

  1. Start the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator program.
  2. Expand the 3270 Display icon or the desired emulation type.
  3. Right-click on Attributes and select New.
  4. Enter a new attribute profile name.
  5. Click on the Hotspots tab and select the Disable option.

  6. Click OK to save.
  7. Open the appropriate session profile.
  8. Go to the Options tab and assign this attribute profile to the session.
  9. Click Connect to save and test.
