I am able to configure a PASSPORT session to connect to my AS/400 and get logged in, but none of the function keys seem to work. Is there something I can do to resolve this?

Solution

This problem normally occurs when the session is configured for the wrong emulation type. When connecting to an AS/400 host, TN5250 should be used. Follow the steps below to check which emulation type you have selected:

  1. Start your PASSPORT session.
  2. Choose the Communication®Disconnect menu command.
  3. Choose the Communication®Setup menu command.
  4. Make sure the Emulation Type field has TN5250 selected, otherwise choose it from the drop-down list (TN3270 is the default).
