Issue

I am using a Portuguese keyboard and selecting Portuguese/Brazil as the language for VT420 emulation, however, the keys ç º ª are not working properly and results in the following:

Pressing Ç results ^Ã'

Pressing  ª results ^Ãj

Pressing  º results ^Ãz

How can this be resolved?

Solution

In order for these keys to function properly, you will need to change the Control Code from 7-Bit to 8-Bit.  Follow the steps below to change the Control Code for a VT session:

For PASSPORT PC to Host:

  1. Disconnect from your PASSPORT session.
  2. Select Setup from the Communication menu.
  3. Select 8-Bit for Control Code under the Connection tab.

For PASSPORT Web to Host:

From the Administrator:

  1. In the PASSPORT Web to Host Administrator, open the session that you want to change the Control Code for.
  2. On the Connection tab, select 8-Bit for the Control Code.

  3. Click OK to save or Connect to connect to the session.
