Title

Invalid License Code Error When Launching a Session

Product

PASSPORT Web to Host

Emulation Types

TN3270, TN5250, VT, SCO ANSI, Wyse 60

Issue

After updating the license code on the server, the users are getting an “Invalid license code” error after launching a session.

Solution

Even though the license code appears to be correct in the Web to Host Administrator program, it could contain blank spaces at the end or the beginning of the code; thus, causing this error.  To correct this problem, do the steps below on the PASSPORT Web to Host server:

  1. Use Notepad to edit Ecomes.zwh (located at C:\Program Files\Passport Eclient Admin\Eclient or where PASSPORT is installed).
  2. Delete any spaces or strange characters either at the beginning or at the end of the license code in the code line.  See below:

    [Server Property]
    Server_Object=/pecadmin/Ecomes.asp
    Code=KD9I-MLXZ-XXXX-XXXX
    KeepAliveTime=30
  3. Save the file and restart the web server.
  4. On the workstation, clear cache before launching a PASSPORT session.
